A Public Reading of the Declaration of Independence
What is this?
Celebrate America's 250th birthday at A Public Reading of the Declaration of Independence, a special Fourth of July event honoring the document that shaped a nation. Twenty civic leaders from across Greater Cincinnati, including Jan-Michele Lemon Kearney, Adrian Flores, Tarita Preston, Jack Louiso, Julie Kirkpatrick, Alfonso Cornejo, Leslie Ghiz and Charleston Wang, will each read a portion of the Declaration, bringing its historic words to life for a new generation. Following the reading, enjoy a performance by No Promises Vocal Band and additional artistic entertainment. Be part of a rare tradition returning to the region. This marks only the second public reading of the Declaration of Independence in Greater Cincinnati since 1925, reviving a custom once observed in communities across America. From: 9:30 AM to 10:20 AM
